So you wanna play poker, and you want to play right now. Good, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get you started on your internet poker playing career…

Step One: Downloading the Poker Client

Getting started at Scarlet Poker is a quick, easy and straight-forward process. But before you do anything, you’re going to need to download our poker room client. That’s just a fancy technical way of saying you’ll need to download the software that connects to our servers. You can do that by clicking on this link here.

Step Two: Installing the Poker Client

The next step is installing the poker client on your PC. The good news is that it does it all for you. Simply double click on the icon and the software will self-install. As the client completes its installation, it will connect with the poker room and show you a registration window. If you need more detailed instructions on downloading and installing our poker client, help is at hand here. Alternatively, please feel free to contact our support team who will be more than happy to help.

Step Three: Registering With Us

Once you’ve connected to the poker room, you’ll see our Lobby area. You can investigate further without registering, but if you’d like to start playing you’ll need to register. This doesn’t take long, and you’ll need to choose a unique screen name, password and avatar while telling us a little bit more about yourself.

Step Four: Opening an Account

If you want to play for real money, you’re going to need to open a real money account with Scarlet Poker. To do this, select cashier from the lobby. You won’t need a real money account if you just want to play for fun, but if you’re looking to enter any freerolls we will need you to go through this process. After all, should you win, we’ll need somewhere to put your winnings!

Step Five: Sit Back, Play Poker and Enjoy

And that’s it, you’re now ready to dive straight into the world of online poker. Have fun, and best of luck!

What kinds of computers can I use to play poker?

Currently we support all standard versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 98 forward, except for Win NT 4.0. (We have had reports that it works fine on NT). We have tested the client software on older, slower systems with not much memory.

How much memory should my computer have?

We have successfully run the client on Windows 98 on a first generation Pentium chip running at 133 Mhz with 48 Mb RAM (memory). The poker room software does not require much memory but older, slower systems will generally have problems if you are running other applications at the same time. If you want to run other applications at the same time as the poker room, you will have to experiment to learn what your particular configuration can support.

Are there any graphics requirements for my computer?

You will need a system that supports 800x600 graphics settings. You will have a much more enjoyable experience if you set your display to 1024 x 768 or higher. You must use the High color ( 16 bit) color choices setting, or greater. Our graphics will not load with your computer at the 256 color setting.

How much space should my hard drive have?

Your hard drive must also have 12 Mb free space to download and install the client.

Have you seen any other problems?

Well, yes we have. There are so many variations of equipment in use today that we cannot test all combinations. We have seen systems with other applications that prevent the poker room software from running properly. In most of these cases, the poker software did not start. We would certainly appreciate hearing from you if you have such problems so that we can investigate and help. Most users experience no download or installation problems. If you do, contact us. We want to help!
